The Winpe dialogue to further gender diversity within the investing ecosystem was launched on Feb 7, 2020 at the The A Club at One Indiabulls in Mumbai. This by-invitation only event was attended by 94 heads and senior delegates from the private equity, venture capital and media community who banded together in their support for the cause. The event opened with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and an introduction to Winpe by its founder Ms. Nupur Garg.

Ms. Renuka Ramnath, Founder, Managing Director and CEO of Multiples Alternate Asset Management, and advisor to Winpe, delivered an emotional opening address that was straight from her heart and set the tone for the event - encouraging frank, personal and funny conversations to follow. Ms. Anita George, Executive Vice-President and Head of Strategic Partnerships, Growth Markets at CDPQ and advisor to Winpe, sent in her best wishes through a video message as her work responsibilities required her to be on the other side of the globe that afternoon.

The event saw representatives of Winpe's member firms take the stage to share their thoughts in the Panel Discussion on Diversity- Perspectives from PE Firms in what were undoubtedly one of the most candid conversations the industry had heard in a long time. There were also some incredibly funny moments that had the audience in splits! The launch also heard from Sujoy Bose, Managing Director and CEO, National Investment and Infrastructure Fund of India (NIIF), who joined Renuka Ramnath, Zia Mody, Co–Founder and Managing Partner of AZB & Partners & advisor to Winpe, and Nupur Garg for a discussion hosted by Nisha Poddar, Deputy Editor M&A, CNBC; and Ms Ameera Shah, Managing Director, Metropolis Healthcare, who shared her entrepreneurial journey in the keynote address.

The event was brought to a close by Ms. Zia Mody, with a speech that left the audience charged and utterly motivated to bring gender balance into the investing ecosystem.
